If we have to stick with the 20 player thing, we should at least get to cut players before the season starts without the penalty of paying their salaries.

ok guess what guys, nothing to discuss about the UFA process... we should all accept the rules and facilitate what the initial rules stated regarding UFA, cause guess what, Erik says "accept the rules" so this applies across the board. Phew, good to see the whole UFA discussion can end now since we are now "accepting the rules"

we "accept the rules" in some cases, but feel empowered to augment rules whenever the commishes damn well feel like it Commishes are saving our league from a huge crap chute with the FA thing. This roster suggestion doesn't help the league as a whole but benifits a select few. FA restructure helps our league as a whole. Changing rules to suit your personal needs is not a good practice. For example, I think PIMs should be added because I have some high PIM guys on my team giving me value on my team for nothing. Not fair to those teams who built thier teams based on the RULES.

the commishes are looking to protect the league from crazy contracts for players(UFA) that don't deserve them. my team has a lot of cap space and not one of the choicest of teams but i'm still for an change to the present UFA rules...i'm not mad at you panthers just trying to address your concerns:)

OK sorry man to be honest at this point I wasn't planning on any big FA splashes. PRetty happy with my team. Got some extras specs to bump up to the big team. Who knows that could change with a few trades, but that was my plan.
Yes I hear you out on the team selection thing. It was unfair and it would have been real cool if we could have did a fantasy draft at the beginning to see who gets who. fair for everyone.

I want to point out That I was not verbally abusive in any way in this conversation so I hope I don't get booted over this. Hawks GM warned me once and I am not mad or aggressive at Chad's remarks.

well i just don't like how you threw "accept the rules" in my face, because if that was the case, then we should have "accepted the rules" regarding the free agency issue.
All the commish's had to do was implement choice #2 and have any new GM have the choice of keeping or dismissing any type 2 contracts.... it wasnt that hard, but yet we have to postpone, inconvenience, make a huge rah rah about it.
There is a salary cap in place for a purpose. If someone wants to spend 12 million on Todd Bertuzzi, i say let them. Its there god damn team. There is only so much cap space. And if the GM bolts... then we have a safeguard in place... UFA did not need a overhaul when one slight ammendment was sufficient.

Seems alot of your frustration is steming from the results of the UFA poll.
Well yes, accept the rules. We couldn't have a league if we didn't accept rules. There was a problem with the UFA format and now it is getting fixed. There isn't a problem with the roster setup right now. But if one arises I am more than open to changing it. But I am not the commish. I am only commenting on it cause I like how the roster set-up was from the beginning. It seems fair to all and realistic. I love what this auction UFA thing will do cause we keep the contracts on par with the NHL making our league very realistic.

and i think it was good to give people options on which to vote....and i still think that a teams cap will effect how they can bid on UFAs even if faab passes
