3 starting goalies as opposed to 2 would only give you an extra advantage for wins, it would not really give you an advantage for GAA and Save % since those 2 cats are based on average and not GP induced

agreed rangers 3 starting goalies would give that individual pretty much the greatest chance of always winning the goalie categories. I like it how it is. You could still only dress 12 F, 6 D and 2 G the bench spots would be so that you can have a couple extra players like in the NHL. You can have 3 goalies if you want - like the Islanders do sometimes. But usually those spots would be to juggle your players a little. It's going to be horrible when you have to choose whether to have 1 less player scoring for you (like the Stralman sample) or to cut the guy and pay half his salary. I hate that. It's not realistic.

maybe we can add 1 spot so people don't abuse it or use the I forgot to set my lineups. I came from a league were henrik sedin was on his bench all year because he forgot its very frustrating

I came from a league were henrik sedin was on his bench all year because he forgot its very frustrating 1 spot would be better than none. But a couple would be great. There are times when a player gets benched for a few games b/c of a bad defensive turnover. I just hate to not be allowed to drop a player. Say a prospect you didn't expect, makes his NHL club and is lighting it up. You wanna be able to call that guy up. But to do so you have to scratch someone else, like a savvy vet who is underproducing. But instead, you now have to cut that player and pay half his salary. That sucks. You shouldn't be forced to make a trade or to cut someone to open one slot for a youngster. I don't like it.

Don't forget my point on always having a dressed lineup regardless if you forget to change your bench daily.
In response to Panthers, yes 3 goalies does help all goalie CATS because goalies ride hot and cold streaks all the time so I will bench my cold goalie and dress the other 2 giving me a clear advantage in all goalie CATs.

Plus it is REALLY unrelaistic having 3 starters on a team. It hurts the other teams in the league and make our league less competitive. Not a good idea folks.

i politely disagree. Most teams will have at most 1 starting goalie. So if you have a bench with a 3rd goalie, your 2nd and 3rd goalies will be back ups. So how often in the NHL do you have a "hot" back up goalie on a streak in the NHL when you have 95% of the NHL teams investing millions on their starter. Stlouis has a 2 goalie system, but are the only ones to have such a system. It is so remote of having a hot back up goalie that it will impact GAA and Save %. It would be neglibible, and my findings are still that the extra goalie will only impact wins, and even then at the most, an extra win, whoopie!

1) Example: Price - Quick - Lundqvist goalie trio is ridiculous, unrealistic, and hurtful to the other GMs in the league.
2) I like the idea of grace given to GMs who are busy or forget to dress thier rosters everyday. Regardless of how many times you log-in and edit roster we find out who has the best 20 players.
3) Trades and planning has already been made considering the current roster set-up. Changing this rule hurts the team who were building to have all 20 players in all the time.
Its not difficult. at all. just accept the rules. They are fine. maybe change next year if this setup doesnt work.
