We need to cancel trading until stats are finalized.
I can already see the GM's up in arms when they make an earlier traded based on the stat categories listed in the rules section only to find out 5 or 6 categories have been added to the list making the previous trade unfair. I personally want to see how fantrax grades my players before I trade any away.
It will save us alot of headache :-)

I would like a strong consideration for PIM's in the stats categories.
The comment was made that PIM's are a negative stat, but I strongly disagree. Yes, I agree there are some penalties that are bad penalites, but for the most part penaities are taken to prevent a scoring chance from happening. One could argue the point "well some goals are bad goals or some assists aren't warranted" but we count all goals and assists regardless if they are good or bad. Why not treat PIMs the same way?
For the most part, PIMs are a solid defensive stat that all players can collect; even if they aren't tough guys. Lets count 'em.

I don't like face offs as a category because it gives centers an advantage. I thought you were trying to find a way to give more value to Dmen, which I think shot blocks and hits does. I don't like rewarding PIMs, but would agree to rewarding a Gordie Howe Hatrick. I also think takes and give aways are better personal stats than plus/ minus. Plus minus rewards a player for being on a better team.

I'm not sure that there is a stat tracking for 5 min major penalties (fights, spears, kicks, biting of ears, etc). So given all these non skilled point values, I should change my recruitment strategy to not bothering with expensive hockey players. Instead I should look to WWF for inexpensive muckers.

I see you have decided to go head to head. I'm not sure I get the Goalie scoring though. Is it fair to have a Goalie get a goals against average of 0.00 for a 15 save shutout against a weak team and a 1.000 save pct vs a goalie that works his butt off to save 36 of 37 shots against a tough offensive opponent but get the loss? Wouldn't either one of the two scoring categories have been enough and have SAVES as the other scoring category. That way the first mentioned one would have gotten the points for the WIN and the GAA or SAVE% and the second one would have gotten the points for the SAVES.

I would like to see shutouts added. It makes the goalies a little more dynamic and important by adding that 4th stat category.

Agree...shutouts are special not only for goalie but for whole team...should be worth some points

For all you PIM haters, my question is have you ever played hockey?
I guy who racks up PIMs on a team is valuable. They are willing to go hard in the corners, battle the tough areas, and fight to stand up for elite players or swing momentum. It is only 1 CAT but it respects these brand of athletes. You take away PIM all of a sudden your Milan Lucic's, David Clarkson's, Steve Downie's, and so on have a lower value. Steve Downie gets traded to Colorado and all of a sudden the team is battling for the playoffs and you GMswant to takeaway his value?? Come on. Be realistic guys.
And I agree +/- is a stat for successful teams only. Players who belong to bottom dwelling teams arent an accurate reflection of thier true on ice value.
And Shutouts well same kinda thing. Quick plays for a defensive minded team given him plenty of opportunity for a shutout. Like if is GAA and SV% aren't enough, we need to inflate his value more with SO. Cam Ward is just as good but plays for a poor team. Good luck trying to get a shutout.

AGREED Pims are part of the game and always will be it would be nice too have a pim guy on my roster cause those guys should have value just like anyone else doing their job..Tough guys now can play hockey and are not just goons and they also got the toughest job in hockey and why not get rewarded for a good pim guy..And i also agree Eric on +/- ... Well put and its definately a meaning less categorie in fantasy hockey..Or it should be anyway ..Cant wait too get this going
