Can we trade cap space? You should only be able to trade it to a certain point (say $60 Million minimum cap ceiling). And only be able to trade for it to a certain point (say $80 Million maximum cap ceiling). We should at least discuss it.

Nothing in the current cba allows teams to trade cap space. The negotiations for a new cba gave involved discussing being able to trade cap space. If it is added to the new cba we might look at adding it to our league

If we reduce cap because it is in the new CBA but we do not allow cap trading if they include that, it is so contradictory and ridiculous IMO. Gotta be both or either because both really go hand in hand

honestly I think cap space trading is not needed we have teams who capspaces are wrong already so asking to keep track of that as well. Plus the nhl doesn't have it. It also makes it so just powerhouses stay powerhouses.

Currently the NHL doesn't have it. Currently they also have a 70.2M cap. If they implement cap trading and lower cap, we should implement either both or neither

i don't think we should match the nhl cap. but if we do, teams should be able to release players without penalty. i've made trades, signed contracts believing i had a cap of 70mill to work with.

Agreed but in most cases releasing players still won't get you over cap and causes deals for big name players useless since we have to drop high paid players

Pretty sure we wont be lowering the cap for this year but we will most likely realign ourselves with the nhl for the start of next season. If needed we will probably offer a certain number of buyouts without penalty

If needed we will probably offer a certain number of buyouts without penalty I'm fine with this but I have some guys I'm probably going to have to waive since I'm over the allotted amount of players. If we get to drop players at no consequence if the cap is lowered, can we drop bought out contracts?

Again like I said if we implement a cap that is the same as the NHL next season we should also be allowed to trade cap if the NHL is allowed to. Even for next year the issues go hand in hand
