This trade is being contested as Colin Wilson was not listed on the official team roster.

Whoever contested this trade should focus on building his own team.
So petty. Preds obviously forgot to include Wilson on his 20 man roster. He is new and made a mistake. We need a bit of tolerance with the rules.
Also, public humilation for Preds GM isn't very welcoming to one of our newest members. Give the guy a break you bully.

Preds has nothing to be embarrassed about. He probably figured it was no big deal to add him to the roster. The league is new and there are a lot of rules to take in.
I agree that leaving Wilson off the official roster was likely an oversight.

can't decide if Getzlaf is worth Ellis and 3 first round picks. also i voided one of my trades because a player wasn't on roster. it's an oversight but it's a slippery slope. an official roster should be just that. not vetoing or asking for a void yet...just thinking it over

Well if this helps you think it over my resignation will be in your inbox if this trade is VETOd.
Not sure how badly you want active GMs around here, but if your check the members list you will see I am most active. But I don't have time for petty commishes who make a big deal out of a little mistake. So let me know if you are gonna be petty I will gladly leave.

I will approve just this once for this scneraio. But I'll say this I think the rule should be forced because where does it stop. I know rangers you don't want this happen because you are a part of the trade. But think if you werent involved would you take this approach. You claiming pens is being a bully, you seem to be a bully threatening everything unless you get your way. So I recommended that we make an exception this only time because it was the first. But that is it.

Using my rights to leave is not being a bully. I have no power in this decision. If the commishes decide to VETO they will do it. The only power I have is to stay or leave. Same with you.
Pens GM is a bully because he has power as a commish and he is using it to be petty. Yes Preds made a mistake but it was a small offense and he is a brand new GM. How can we expect anyone to join our league if 100% rule perfection is expected on day 1?
Get over it guys. Focus on the draft and building your teams.

i don't think it's being petty. especially since i voided my own trade, a trade that i really wanted, because of this same issue. you are an active gm who has made many trades with no issue, it would be a shame if you left because we want to enforce the rule.

It's not about being petty
It's about upholding rules that we all have access to. Had we been notified of this error prior to trading an ineligible player it would not have blown up like this.
As other have mentioned where do you draw the line. If someone expresses interest in a player that is left unprotected should I just be able to say that I forgot to keep him ?
Anyway I think a fair compromise would be to have Preds release a player from his 20 man roster that he did keep. Since Bouillon is a UFA anyway that should satisfy it imo.

As commishes you need to find the balance between enforcing rules and making this a fun welcoming place for GMs.
This should never have gone public. A simple discussion between you and Preds GM was all that was needed. Once you finalize the results, then let everyone know if you need to. Not during the decision process. Including the whole league now in this discussion is a WASTE OF TIME. You are the commishes. deal with it privately. Very unprofessional.
Stop stirring the pot. Play the game and have fun.

The rules seem pretty straight forward, but if a compromise is to be made I would agree with Pens suggestion.
Also, threatening to quit if you don't get your way is unacceptable in my opinion and that is a clear case of bullying or whatever you want to call it. You have a right to quit if you don't like a decision, but saying if I don't get my way I'm gone is putting those who have to make a decison in a very unfair position.
I commish several leagues and have had people threaten to leave and each time I tell them they are welcome to go as I'd rather not deal with that b.s. And each time they realize they miss an active league much more than the active league misses them!
