Contracts
All contract information details should be obtained by using CAPGEEK.COM.
1. All contracts are determined by CAP HIT, not actual yearly salary, and are rounded to the nearest tenth of a million dollars for easy calculations (i.e. a real life .542M contract becomes .5M, .550M becomes .6M).
2. If a player on your team retires and was on your team when he retired, you are not responsible for his contract and can immediately drop that player with no penalty.
3. Until the beginning of Free Agency period, all real life contracts and contract extensions signed before Free Agency begins on July 1st will be counted.
Waivers
-If a GM decides to waive a player/contract the GM is required to count exactly half that contracts salary cap hit each year for the life of the contract rounded up to the nearest 100k towards the teams salary for the duration of the contract and post the buy out amount/duration in their teams roster board.
-Once a player is waived that player is added to this leagues list of Free Agents eligible to be bid on as per league Free Agency Bidding Process.
-Please note that any team who wins a players rights thru Free Agency who was waived by another team is responsible for accounting the entire amount of the contract they offered the player towards their teams salary cap and should not subtract the waived portion being paid by that players previous owner.
RFA's
All players listed as being RFA's at the end of their current contract according to CAPGEEK.COM are automatically resigned by the team in this league that owns their rights when the contract is signed. Unless that teams GM chooses to release the pending RFA player to Free Agency which is only available during off-season.
Upon resigning of the RFA the team that owns that players rights inherits that players real life contract and it must be counted accordingly as per the rules listed above.
UFA's & Tags
All Franchise Tags must be applied accordingly in the designated board before the list of Unrestricted Free Agents available on CAPGEEK.COM AT 12:01AM EST July 1st each year is compiled.
All players that remain listed as being UFA's according to CAPGEEK.COM when Free Agency period begins July 1st must be Franchise Tagged by their teams GM or they will automatically become Unrestricted Free Agents in this league and are subject to being made offers to by all other GMs in this league (see rule 9).
Each GM is awarded 1 Franchise Tag that can be applied to any pending UFA on their 40 Man Roster who has not signed a real life contract before the beginning of the Free Agency Period July 1st.
Once activated the Franchise Tag allows the GM to acquire the tagged players real life contract that he signs during the real life Free Agency period.
